If you’re getting emails from “hackers” who claim your computer is compromised, just delete them – most likely the information is false. Alternatively, you may reach local authorities or report it to the FBI at https://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx
How do you know it’s fake?
- They don’t provide actual evidence of compromising screens or videos;
- Scammer claims they gained access over your emails;
- A 2-day deadline for the payment is often imposed – so you won’t have time to research on the matter; and
- Bitcoin is a preferred payment method.
